Justin Trudeau, Emmanuel Macron, Jack Ma, Bill Gates to Join More than 50 Heads of State and 250 Global CEOs to Discuss Today’s Most Pressing Challenges to Economic Growth and Prosperity

September 13, 2017 – Bloomberg and Twitter are partnering to deliver a special live stream of Bloomberg’s Global Business Forum on Wednesday, September 20. Twitter is Bloomberg’s exclusive live partner for the day-long event, and the live stream will be available globally via @business.

Taking place in New York City next week on the occasion of the United Nations General Assembly, the first-ever Global Business Forum will convene more than 50 heads of state and 250 global CEOs, including Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada; Emmanuel Macron, President of France; Recep Erdogan, President of Turkey; Sergey Lavrov, Foreign Minister of Russia; as well as former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger; Jack Ma, Executive Chairman of Alibaba Group; Lloyd Blankfein, CEO and Chairman of Goldman Sachs; Bill Gates, Co-Founder of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde; Indra K. Nooyi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, PepsiCo; and Jim Kim, President of World Bank Group. Bloomberg is sponsoring the forum in partnership with the Alibaba Group; Dangote Industries Limited; EXOR, the holding company controlled by the Agnelli family; the Mahindra Group; and MiSK, the philanthropic foundation of His Royal Highness Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.

Michael R. Bloomberg and The Honorable William J. Clinton, 42nd President of the United States, will kick-off the forum in the morning, followed by on stage discussions with world leaders on advancing trade, economic growth and related societal challenges, disruptive technologies, global trade and commerce, preserving broad economic opportunity, climate change and mass migration, and regional transformations in China, the Middle East and Africa.

The live stream will begin at approximately 8:30 am ET upon the opening of the program and viewers can follow the conversation surrounding the event via #BloombergGBF.

This is Bloomberg and Twitter’s second live stream event since announcing their partnership in May to create the first-ever breaking news network that will be global, live, social and streaming. In June, 2.7 million viewers tuned into Bloomberg and Twitter’s live stream coverage of former FBI director James Comey’s testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee. The live coverage attracted a young audience, with 88% of logged-in viewers under the age of 35. Last fall, Bloomberg Media and Twitter partnered to live stream the U.S. presidential debates, and the platform currently streams three of Bloomberg Television’s daily live programs.
